We admired the old building with its wide plank floors. I loved the veranda (available for all guests of the auberge to use.) It is large, well maintained, and provides a great view since it is on the second floor (which is the first floor of the auberge). Being covered, it is shady and is protected from the rain. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Even the owners' dog was delightful and enjoyed being patted. The common room with 2 small refrigerators for guest use, a coffee maker, kettle, microwave, tables and chairs is a great convenience. The restaurant downstairs serves generous quantities of very tasty food from 11:30 onwards and has a back patio which was enjoyed by many. (There are 2 very good breakfast options within easy walking distance of the auberge.)

The location was very good for our purposes. We were there to see the Louise Penny Three Pines area and this hotel was a perfect location.

Spacious twin room for my sister and I. Though breakfast is not provided there was a comfortable coffee room with fresh fruit. The hostess was friendly and lovely. Good location for our goals to visit the museum (walking distance) and nearby location of where some of our ancestors came to Canada after the American Revolution.

We stayed at the Knowlton because we wanted a friendly, warm hotel in the middle of the village. We were following the path of Inspector Gamache in the Louis Penny 3 Pines books. It was perfect. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the room easily handled the twin and single beds. We were on the second story of the building on the main corner of downtown so we got to watch people laughing and walking their dogs. The restaurant downstairs is wonderful. We had mussels the first night and onion soup the second. Top notch food and excellent service. Everything about the place said warmth and comfort and home. We loved our stay.

My husband and I were visiting the Eastern Townships of Quebec for the week and the Auberge Knowlton was our home base. It is the longest continously operating inn in the area, originally an 1849 stagecoach inn. We loved the mix of historical and modern comforts. The owners and staff were welcoming and the inn's very polite border collie, Charlie, was a bonus. Guests also receive a discount for dinner each night downstairs at the bistro/restaurant. Every meal (dinners and breakfast) that we had there did not disappoint! The Auberge is located in an ideal location for walkability around the village.

Nice historic inn, well situated within walking distance of several businesses (bookstores, antique shops, restaurants). Staff was welcoming and accommodating, the room was clean and well furnished. We liked our stay in Knowlton and will likely be back!

I arrived late. Started to unload my baggage. A gentleman came to my assistance and carried the baggage up three flights of stair. We had a cheerful conversation. In the morning two wonderful ladies helped me load my car. Room was cozy and very clean. I loved the cheeriness and the welcoming attitude of the staff. Very central. Good base to see the town.

It is centrally located in Knowlton making it convenient to visit shops, restaurants & key sites in Lac Brome. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The room was spotless & comfortable. The restaurant is located on the street level & accessible from inside the hotel.
